Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is one of the most interesting destinations for travellers to visit while travelling to Hanoi in Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is in Ba Ding Square in Hanoi in Vietnam where Vietnamese and foreign travellers come and pay the respect to Ho Chi Minh President, the National Hero of Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is located in the government office area in Hanoi in Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum has large green grass field in front and wonderful trees and fruit tree gardens at the back and two sides of Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in Hanoi in Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is built on the site where Ho Chi Minh declared independence for Vietnam on 2nd September 1945 in Ba Ding Square in Hanoi in Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum was built in 1973 and finished in 1975. Before building Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Vietnamese government organized a competition to select the design for Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. All the best materials were selected from all over Vietnam to build Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. All the best architects, constructors and most talented carpentries were selected to build Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. Ho Chi Minh President was born on 19th May 1890 in Nghe An Province in Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh President came from an educated family. Ho Chi Minh had two brothers and one sister. Ho Chi Minh President’s father was a teacher in Hue and his mother was a farmer. Totally, Ho Chi Minh President spent 30 years outside of Vietnam to find out the way to get the independent for Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh President died on 2nd September 1969 when he was 79 years old. From then still the mausoleum finished, he was moved in and out of Hanoi in Vietnam 6 times to avoid the bomb during the American war. Everyday, thousand of foreign travellers and Vietnamese visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. The biggest wish of all Vietnamese is having opportunity to visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum once in their life to pay their respect to the most loved leader of the country. All Vietnamese consider Ho Chi Minh as the father of the Vietnam and the member of their family. Lots of Vietnamese people put Ho Chi Minh President Portrait on the altar any praying him as their ancestors. Travellers visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum can see the guards matching every one hour when they change their guarding time. Travellers can see two big banners on two side of Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in Hanoi in Vietnam. The one on the left means: The socialist republic of Vietnam. The other means: Ho Chi Minh President is always in our heart. Travellers will need to go through security check before going inside Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. Cameras and hand phones are not allowed inside Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. Visitors are required to wear properly to visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. Shorts, T-shirts are not allowed to go inside Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. It is free to visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum but 15.000 vnd will be charged if travellers wish to go inside President Palace to visit the house where Ho Chi Minh President worked and lived from 1945 to 1958 and the house on stilt. Ho Chi Minh Complex in Vietnam includes Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, President Palace, Ho Chi Minh’s house from 1945 to 1958, House on stilt and One-pillar Pagoda. The President Palace used to be the Indochina Governor Building built by French from 1901 to 1906. The President Palace was designed by the architect Lichtenfelder. After the Victory in Dien Bien Phu in 1954, Ho Chi Minh President used this palace to receive the guests. The President Palace now is also the place for Vietnam to receive important guests from other countries. The small yellow building next to the President Palace is where Ho Chi Minh worked and lived from 1954 to 1958. This house is kept as original and visitors can see his bedroom, dinning room and reading room that show simple Ho Chi Minh lived. The House on stilt was built in summer 1958 after Ho Chi Minh President visited Thai Nguyen Province. The House on stilt was designed as the house of Tay Minority People in Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh President lived in this house from 19th May 1958 to 17th August 1969. The house is truly wonderful with a large pond in front. One-pillar Pagoda was built in 1409 by Ly Thai Tong Kinh. One night Ly Thai Tong had a dream that the godness of mercy sitting on a lotus held his hand and took him on the lotus. People advised the king to build the pagoda as his dream to pray for the longevity of the king. One-pillar pagoda is at the back of Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in Hanoi in Vietnam. |

Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum opens from 7.30 am to 11 am. Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum closes in the afternoon. Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum closes every Monday. Each year, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in Hanoi in Vietnam will close in two months for maintenance. |

It is easy to get to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Ho Chi Minh complex in Hanoi in Vietnam from Hanoi Old Quarter. It takes about 15 minutes to walk from Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Ho Chi Minh complex. Travellers in Hanoi in Vietnam also can get to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Ho Chi Minh complex by taxi, motobikes or Cyclo. There are two public bueses departuring from Hoan Kiem Lake to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Ho Chi Minh complex. The bus No 9 and bus No 14. Visitors should drop at the bus stop near West Lake in Hanoi in Vietnam if taking bus No 14. |
